We're just one week away from the 2011 National Championships in Providence. And what a weekend it's going to be. The All Star Classic. The Pro FFA. The Finals of the Global Invitational. And let's not forget the Championship Finals themselves; the world's best teams and players, all locked in a fierce battle for a massive prize pool of over $500,000. Those of you watching from home are going to be treated to so much action, you might not move from your couch for three days.

StarCraft 2

Full Broadcast Schedule

The National Championship

As befits the crowning Event of the 2011 Season, we've pulled out all the stops for this one. The StarCraft 2 National Championship will pit the Season's Top 16 against an Open Bracket so ridiculous that any predictions fly right out the window. Nestea, Mvp, Losira, Puzzle, Hero, and MKP (just to name a few) are in the Open Bracket. There are 15 Code S players in the Open Bracket.  And they'll be going head-to-head against the likes of Huk, Idra, Naniwa, Ret, Select, and many more.

At stake: a $50,000 1st Place prize, and $120,000 in total prize money. And all of the glory that comes with winning the entire Season. Best have an oxygen tent on hand, because you could very well faint from the quality of the games we're going to be seeing here.

The Casters

No tournament is complete without its casters, and we've got nothing but the best for the National Championships. Unfortunately, Day9 will not be able to attend because of a longstanding prior committment. He has been an invaluable part of MLG since StarCraft 2 joined the Pro Circuit; we'll miss him in Providence, and can't wait to have him back next Season!

Casting in Providence will be the all-star team of Tasteless, Artosis, djWheat, Husky, Mr Bitter, and JP McDaniel. We're very happy to have Mr Bitter back at MLG after his incredible performance in Anaheim.

The Translators

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank Milkis for all the excellent work he's done on the 2011 Pro Circuit. He made a wonderful addition to the team, and we are disappointed that he won't be joining us in Providence. However, we are incredibly excited about our new Main Stage translator… who will be none other than Seong-Hwan Kim, better known as Hwanni.  Hwanni has a long and storied history in eSports and has been deeply involved in the scene since Brood War. We're honored to have him with us.

Global Invitational Finals

The National Championships aren't the only tournament taking place in Providence, although they're of course the biggest. The weekend will also be the occasion of the Grand Finals of the Global Invitational. After months of play, we have a winner from each of the Regional Brackets. Your finalists are:

  • EGIdra: North America
  • coLNaniwa: Europe
  • QIMMvp: Korea

Our fourth player will be QIMNestea. Nestea receives the invitation as the runner-up of the Blizzard Invitational, since the winner of that tournament was Mvp, who is already in the GI Finals. (See full explanation.) Nestea, Mvp, Idra and Naniwa. We couldn't ask for four better players. They'll be competing live, in what is sure to be a truly epic series of games, for a share of the $4,000 prize pool.

The Schedule

As there are no Pools at the National Championships, you'll see that the schedule is quite different. Keep in mind that the Red and Blue streams are available in standard definition to all. But if you get a Membership, not only do you get Red and Blue in HQ, but you get acess to both of our beta streams. These were a huge success in Orlando, bringing viewers double the action over the course of the weekend. With this lineup of players, it's quite possible that you literally won't want to miss a single match. So if you were ever going to get a Membership, now's probably the time.

Halo: Reach

Full Broadcast Schedule

The National Championship

It's been an interesting Season for Halo. At one point, Instinct seemed absolutely unstoppable, only to be crushed by an up-and-coming Infamous squad, which was then taken out in turn by Dynasty. Who will come through now, when it matters more than ever? Which roster has it in them to be the 2011 National Champions?

All streamed matches will feature casting by Gandhi (Scott Lussier), Shockwave (Chris Smith), Unbreakable (Nathan Mann), and U4ix (Frank Bowen). But that's not all. MLG's own Chris Puckett will be returning to the commentary booth in Providence. We trust you're as happy and excited about that as we are.

BIC® Flex4® Pro FFA Exhibition
