Ogre 1 made relatively easy work of Round 2 in the Open FFA, but would the third round be as painless? With half the population gone after each round, the competition only gets tougher. If you were watch Ogre 1 during Round 3, however, you might not have known the talent pool was deeper.

Ogre 1 competes in Round 3 of the Open FFA in Dallas

Thanks to an early killing spree, Ogre 1 had nabbed the lead just three minutes into the match. Although he led with 14 kills, fifth place was a mere four kills away. In just two minutes, however, he put some breathing space between himself and the elimination position, leading the way with 23 kills while fifth place stood at 15.

At this point, Ogre 1 seemed a lock to advance. He was not pressing and no player seemed to pose a threat to his top spot, let alone the four players needed to send him packing. Halfway through the game, Ogre 1 sat atop the ranks with 34 kills, which was a five-point lead over second place. His lead would only increase in the next minutes. He pushed the advantage to nine kills over second place with five minutes remaining and then 11 kills with two to play.

Ogre 1 then put his efforts on cruise control. Up 15 kills over fifth place, he looked to preserve his energy for the lengthy competition. This abatement allowed one opponent, ham, to catch up to his total. A one-time lead of 11 kills faded to four by the time the 15 minutes bled away. Ogre 1 still won the match with 61 kills, a healthy 13 points ahead of elimination. With the victory he eased into Round 4.
