One of the true veterans of the league, Saiyan has been a force in Major League Gaming’s upper echelon since its onset. Saiyan joined Final Boss’ powerful squad at the start of the 2005 season, and has been an instrumental key to their success. A perfectionist at heart, Saiyan is never satisfied with mere victory. He is consumed by thoughts of how plays could have been performed better, faster, and more effectively. While exceptionally self-critical, it is his strive for superlative excellence that motivates Saiyan and keeps him at the peak of competition.
Perhaps the most humble player in the league, Saiyan’s low-key personality permeates his gameplay. Occupying Final Boss’ supporting role, Saiyan is entirely focused on aiding his teammates and spurring the team toward victory. With incredible reflexes and a watchful eye on his teammates’ screens, Saiyan provides assistance before his allies have time to ask. While he does little to bring attention to himself, his superb teamwork and selfless gameplay cannot be overlooked.
Team: Final Boss
Career Highlights: Coming in 2nd place at my first national tournament ever. Teaming with my brother and two local friends who were also brothers was definitely one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had gaming. We had high expectations going into the tournament, but none of us would have guessed we were that good.
Likes: Working out and playing games
Dislikes: Missed opportunities
Origin of Handle: A few games in a row, me and my friends were LAN’ing some Halo 1 FFAs and I was playing with a yellow master chief and used the name Saiyan to go along with the color. Every game I played that day I was on fire. Right around this time we decided we would attend Halo 50k1, run by now-MLG-employees such as Anakin, so I needed a name to use at the tourney and Saiyan is what I went with.
First Competitive Gaming Memory: Halo 50k1, placing 5th overall in the FFA and 2nd in the 4v4 to the best first-generation Halo 1 team, TDT.
