By now, you’ve probably checked out a demo of our premium streaming experience page. If you haven’t, you can do so here.
Go on, I’ll wait. Back yet? You probably have a bunch of questions about the page, or a list of features you think are missing, or you might be a little confused about how the page works. Maybe you think you’ve got it all figured out, but want to know just a little more about it. That’s why I’m here. I’m part of the team who has been working on this page over the past couple of weeks. Our goal was to bring our fans the greatest possible online viewing experience. We’re certainly not there yet, but we hope you’ll agree that we’ve taken a huge step in the right direction with the first release of this page.
One thing I want to stress – THIS IS STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS. Seriously. We wanted to get the demo page out there for you as soon as possible, but there is so much more we plan to do with this page in time for the first Arena. Beyond that, we'll be making upgrades to the page indefinitely. We recognize there are quite a few key features missing right now, and there are a few usability issues; we're working hard to make sure that all of this is addressed before the Arena.
Still, we’re human. It’s entirely possible that there's some killer feature that we haven’t thought of, or that we’re just looking at something the wrong way. We'd love to hear your advice and ideas. By heading to our feedback forum, or clicking the “Feedback” tab on the Demo page itself, you can submit your ideas to us to ensure we build the best MLG viewing experience possible.
With that in mind, here’s a quick list of a couple things you might have missed on your first check, and a list of what we’re hoping to add before the first Arena Event.
Current features you might have missed
Keybinds and Alternate Audio – If you’re using one of the layouts with multiple streams, you can change which stream the audio is coming from using the Arrow or WASD keys on your keyboard. Hitting Enter will change a secondary stream into the larger stream. This is great for quickly listening to other streams.
Drag and Drop – Don’t like the pre-defined assignment of channels to the current stream locations? Hit "remove" on each one. Then, using the list of streams at the top of the page, drag and drop streams into the players to decide exactly what order they appear in. You can even have multiple instances of the same stream, if you so choose (for some reason).
