it was a long and glorious year, with more moments than any of us could count. But how do the pros feel about it? We asked four top players from StarCraft 2 and Halo: Reach to tell us about their best memories from 2011.
Pistola – “My most memorable moment would have to be, the last game of the finals at Providence. When we were running the last flag and got all 4 dead. Then I proceeded to run and cap the last flag to win the National Championship on my Birthday. Then getting to hold that check up with my teammates, wouldn't have had it any other way! That's my most memorable moment!”
KiWiKaKi - “My favorite moment from 2011 was after the first game against PuMa at MLG Raleigh in the last match of the group stage. He kept trying to drop me to catch up in the game, but I kept stopping the drops while I massed up units, and everything he tried I deflected. My two base timing was perfect and even though he had vikings I outmicroed him in the battle.
Everyone thought Koreans were untouchable and that no foreigner could beat them. The crowd was going so crazy. Even though I couldn't hear them inside the booth, I could see them cheering and waving. Even though it wasn't my best finish, I love this moment because it was so important to so many people and my fans and other players really respected me after Raleigh for what I did.”
Roy - “For me, my most memorable moment of the season came against Dynasty in CBus, when I went on a sniper spree on Zealot TS. This was one of the most amped moments of my life, feeding off of the crowd's energy, I went on a 5 kill spree with the sniper hitting some insane shots. This moments stick out the most because I was inches away from having my best multikill at a tournament, ever!”
Tsquared - “This play was memorable for me because it was a feeling I've never had before in a tournament. My team was on the brink of elimination and I was refusing to have my season end on a bad note like this. I had to go out with a bang and show everyone what I was capable of – so expect to see a lot more of this next season.”
