MLG Spring Championship Draws All-Time High 437,000 Peak Concurrent Online Viewers and More Than 4.7 Million Unique Online Viewers

NEW YORK—June 14, 2012—Major League Gaming (MLG), the world's largest competitive video game league, today announced that the MLG Pro Circuit Spring Championship in Anaheim, CA, June 8-10, shattered previous records to become the largest North American eSports event ever.  The online broadcast of the three-day video game tournament reached more than 4.7 million unique online viewers with an all-time high of 437,000 peak concurrent online viewers. More than 2.2 million unique online viewers tuned in to watch Championship Sunday and more than 5.4 million hours of video were consumed over the weekend.

In addition to the record breaking online viewership, more than 20,000 in-person spectators watched the event as the world’s best gamers competed for nearly $200,000 playing League of Legends, and Fighting Games – Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur V, THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIII on PlayStation®3 (PS3™) System, and Blizzard Entertainment's critically acclaimed StarCraft II®: Wings of Liberty®.
