MLG T.K.O. Tournament Featuring the Best Dota 2 Teams Competing for $60k

We are proud to announce our next installment of intense Dota 2 competition – the MLG T.K.O. Tournament.  We’ve partnered with joinDOTA to bring you more than six weeks of non-stop Dota 2 action featuring the top teams from the Americas and Europe.  Starting February 4 and continuing through the Championship matches on March 22, 16 of the world’s best teams will compete for $60,000 in prizes – $30,000 for each region.

 

You can watch 6-8 matches each tournament day on MLG.tv and MLG.joinDota.com broadcasted by joinDOTA and commentated by TobiWan.  Additionally, recaps and brackets will be available on MLG.joinDota.com.

Prizing: $60,000 Total ($30,000 per Region)

  • 1st = $14,000
  • 2nd = $8,500
  • 3rd = $4,500
  • 4th = $1,500
  • 5th = $1,500

 

Format:

Each Region will operate separately, with no cross-over play at any stage of the Tournaments.  Each Region’s Tournament will include a series of Round Robin Stages followed by a Championship Match.

 

  • Round Robin Stage One: 8 Teams, all Teams play all other Teams in 1 Game, and the bottom 3 Teams get Knocked Out.
  • Round Robin Stage Two: 5 Teams, all Teams play all other Teams in 2 Games, and the bottom 2 Teams get Knocked Out
  • Round Robin Stage Three: 3 Teams, all Teams play all other Teams in 3 Games, and the bottom Team gets Knocked Out.
  • Championship Match: 2 Teams, Best of 5 Games

 

How to Watch:

Broadcast will be streamed on MLG.tv and embedded on MLG.joinDOTA.com. All matches will be broadcasted by joinDOTA with commentary by TobiWan.

 

Schedule:

Each play day will consist of 6-8 games – T.K.O. Europe games from 12:00pm – 4:00pm EST (18:00-22:00CET), followed by T.K.O. America games from 4-8pm EST (22:00pm-02:00am CET).
