MLG and Dota 2 Overview

 

MLG is showcasing Dota 2 competition this Fall with the North American Dota 2 League September 4-30, MLG Fall Invitational at Full Sail on October 18 and the Championship in Columbus, Ohio, November 22-24.

 

North American Dota 2 League Overview:

The MLG Dota 2 NA League runs online September 4 – 30 and consists of eight teams, one receiving an automatic invitation and seven qualifying by way of the Open Qualifier held on August 31 and September 1.

Every MLG Dota 2 NA League match will be broadcasted at www.majorleaguegaming.com beginning Wednesday, September 4 at 7pm ET, and continuing on Monday’s (7pm ET), Wednesday’s (7pm ET) and Sunday’s (4pm ET) through September 30.  See the broadcast schedule below.

 

The top four teams in the MLG Dota 2 NA League will advance to compete live at the Fall Invitational on October 18.

 

MLG Fall Invitational at Full Sail Overview:

On Friday, October 18, the top four MLG Dota 2 NA League teams including Dignitas and three others will compete LIVE.

 

The first place finisher will receive $10,000 and an invitation to compete at the MLG Fall Championship.  The second place finisher will receive $5,000.

MLG Championship – Columbus, Ohio, Overview:

From November 22-24, the world’s best Dota 2 teams will compete for $50,000 at MLG’s first International Dota 2 competition at the MLG Championship at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. The three-day tournament will feature DK, Speed Gaming, The Alliance, Na’vi, Fnatic, Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid and more competing in Round Robin Play followed by a Single Elimination Championship Bracket. General admission and VIP passes are available now in the MLG Store.

 

Teams include:

  • NA – MLG Fall Invitational Winner (TBD). Watch the MLG Fall Invitational on Friday, October 18 to see who advances.
  • NA – Evil Geniuses
  • NA – Team Liquid
  • China – DK (Dota King) – first Chinese team to compete an MLG Pro Circuit event
  • EU – The Alliance – first place team from The International 3
  • EU – Na’vi (Natus Vincere) – second place team from The International 3
  • EU – Fnatic
  • NA – Invite-Only Online Qualifier Winner (TBD) – Teams can register now for the Dota 2 Open Online Qualifier taking place from September 28 – October 16.  The top eight teams along with the teams finishing 2nd-8th in the NA Fall Dota 2 League will advance to compete in the invite-only qualifier from October 21 – November 6 for this spot at the Championship in Columbus.
