MLG Toronto attendees were treated to a Madden 2009 exhibition match on the MLG Main Stage. Fans watched as two legends from their own respective sports squared off in the latest addition to the Madden series. Gandhi of Legendz took on Marshall Faulk, a former Super Bowl Champion with the St. Louis Rams. The players would be tested, as the game would take place on the All-Madden difficulty setting with a time limit of 2 minutes per quarter.

After Faruq introduced the players, Gandhi and Mr. Faulk chose their respective squads. Gandhi chose last year’s Super Bowl runners up, the New England Patriots, while Marshall Faulk chose the team that gave him his start in the NFL, the Indianapolis Colts. As Gandhi kicked off to start the game, fans cheered as Mr. Faulk ran it back up the field. After an incomplete pass on first down, Gandhi was able to pick off an errant pass and put together a nice run back. With excellent field position, Gandhi was able to score after a tough goal-line stance by Mr. Faulk. The PAT was good, netting Gandhi a 7-0 lead.

After receiving the corresponding kickoff, Marshall Faulk was able to complete his first first down of the game. With Gandhi relentlessly stopping the run, Mr. Faulk was forced to look to the air, but was picked off again by Gandhi as the first half came to an end.

In the second half, Gandhi was able to control both the ball and the clock very efficiently, managing to kick a field goal to cement the win with only a minute remaining in the game. With very little time remaining, Marshall Faulk completed a nice 30 yard post route down the right sideline. Unfortunately, he was unable to capitalize on this, as his next four passes fell incomplete, resulting in a turnover on downs. As the clock ticked down, Gandhi celebrated an impressive 10-0 victory over a very sporting Marshall Faulk.

After the match, one very lucky fan walked away with a brand new Xbox 360, signed by Marshall Faulk himself.

The match was a treat for all fans who were able to grab a seat on the Main Stage, and both competitors seemed to enjoy the competition. Look out for a special video interview with NFL Legend, Marshall Faulk on in the near future.
