Final Boss and 5k met in the Winners Bracket Semifinals and not even an evacuation for a fire alarm could slow down the top-rated Final Boss. Though the games were fairly close, Final Boss methodically took each game from 5k, winning 3-0.

Game 1 featured CTF Midship. 5k put up an impressive effort against the reigning champions, but Final Boss ultimately edged the fourth-seeded squad 5-4. Game 2, Beaver Creek Team Slayer, began, but before the game could get to the 20s, a fire alarm sounded and the building was evacuated.

After the threat of fire was cleared, the two teams resumed their match, restarting Game 2. Final Boss used control of the map and overshield to build a 10-kill lead late in the game. Fearitself nabbed rockets and an overshield for 5k as they were down 47-37 and allowed his team to narrow the game to five, but their charge was simply too late. Final Boss won 50-43, thanks in large part to Strongside’s 18-10 game. They now led the series 2-0.

Final Boss Swept 5K in three gaes

Game 3 was Lockout Oddball. Final Boss threw their new strategy for the gametype at 5k, holding the ball at top blue. Sometimes the tactic was effective, sometimes cumbersome, but in the end it was enough for Final Boss to snag a 4:06-3:19 win. Ogre 2 logged 37 kills to just 24 deaths, while his teammate, Strongside, chipped in with a 33-22 performance. With the win, Final Boss defeated 5k 3-0 and moved to the Winners Bracket Finals to face the victor of Carbon and FBI The Agency.
