In a match that will likely stick in our minds for years to come, Final Boss has just been eliminated from the competition here at MLG San Diego by Triggers Down. The match was hard-fought on both sides, and in fact came down to the wire in a five-game series. Triggers down accomplished a feat that few teams ever achieve—winning a series against Final Boss—and should be commended for their incredible efforts as they continue their trek through the competition.

This is officially the earliest Final Boss has ever been knocked out of an MLG competition, and the first time they have ever failed to appear an the Final match of any tournament that they have ever attended. Final Boss will now play a consolation match in order to determine whether they’ll receive seventh or eighth place at MLG San Diego. Although this is a heart wrenching defeat for Final Boss, the most successful team in competitive gaming history can never be counted out, and you can bet they will come out swinging when MLG Orlando rolls around next month.
