The 2010 MLG Season was the best year of gaming I have had thus far. I couldn’t have asked for a better year. I played for Final Boss at each Event, and we only had one lineup change after the opener. We didn’t place out of the Top 3 in any Event all Season long, and ended up winning the last three Events, including the National Championship in Dallas. I loved every moment of that Season and will remember it forever! I can only hope that my future in gaming will be as successful. I will never forget the Final Boss from 2010!

After winning my first National Championship, the off-season came and went pretty fast. I basically moved into a new house, started working out for the first time ever and had to learn a completely new game: Halo: Reach. The LAN Network picked up shop and moved into the “Gaming House” which is where I am living at this very moment. It’s a blast: it has a sick gaming setup, four bedrooms, a pool, and a hot tub. The LAN Network has been hosting LANs like crazy! Also, during the off-season I decided to do the P90X workouts that most of you have probably seen on TV. I highly recommend them for beginners like me who didn’t know anything about working out or going to a gym. I got really fast results and the workouts were hard but definitely worth it in the end. A lot has happened since Nationals, with moving into a new house, working out, and spending time to get better at Reach!

Going into the 2011 Season, MLG introduced some new sponsors; as most of you already know, NOS Energy is now the official Energy drink of the League. Before Dallas, I got a phone call from MLG letting me know NOS was going to be sponsoring me this year and that I was going to meet them at the Competition. I would like to personally thank Jack and all the guys from NOS that I met in Dallas for supporting both me and the League. Working with you guys will be a blast! Make sure to check out the NOS page for blogs and videos from me.

As for MLG Dallas 2011, the actual tournament didn’t go as Final Boss planned. Here is a little pro tip I’ve learned from my experiences: feeling accomplished in gaming is never a good thing. Always try to push yourself and strive for the next level. Practice like it’s the day before the tournament every day! We ended up losing our Pool to Impact and had a tough matchup against Warriors on Sunday. The Event was a wakeup call to all of us, and to me personally. So from this point forward I will be practicing to make myself and whatever team I’m on the best we possibly can be. Thanks to everyone who read this and especially to NOS Energy for this great opportunity! Drink NOS!
