Earlier today, MLG announced through ESPN.com the cities and dates for the 2008 MLG Pro Circuit Season! The original press release can be found on page 2, but we wanted to share some additional information with you regarding the announcement.

Currently Announced Pro Circuit Live Competition Titles Are: Halo 3, Gears of War, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2
MLG is currently evaluating additional titles for inclusion on the Pro Circuit. If any additional titles are chosen they will be announced on the site, so stay tuned!

Call of Duty 4 to be MLG’s First Online-Only Pro Circuit Title!
You asked and we answered: Call of Duty 4 will be featured as an official Online Pro Circuit Title! The Call of Duty 4 Online Pro Circuit season will consist of a series of online qualifying ladders and tournaments in pursuit of the 2008 MLG Season Title, complete with cash prizes, MLG pro players and in-depth editorial coverage on mlgpro.com. The details of the CoD 4 Online Pro Circuit Season are currently being finalized and will be announced soon so stay tuned for more! While we are considering adding CoD 4 to our Live Competitions, the game is not currently structured for competitive LAN play.

Do not book your hotel rooms yet for any of these Live Competitions! Next week we will be launching an automated booking system which will make getting your room in the MLG hotel block (which features discounted rates and guarantees that you’ll be as close to the venue as possible) much easier. Just sit tight until next week and you’ll save yourself a lot of hassle! Stay tuned for further announcements.

In its Fifth Year, MLG Pro Circuit Combines Live and Online Competitions With Season-Long Coverage by ESPN.COM

Major League Gaming (MLG), the professional video game league, today announced its 2008 MLG Pro Circuit schedule exclusively on ESPN.com. The 2008 season will kick off with its first live competition at the Meadowlands Expo Center outside of New York City, followed by competitions in San Diego, Orlando, Toronto and Dallas. Now in its fifth year, the multi-city tour has grown from a series of grassroots local tournaments into large-scale, sold-out competitions which attract the top pro gamers and thousands of players and spectators, with live online broadcasts and television coverage. In 2008, ESPN.com will cover the entire Pro Circuit season, with exclusive streamed matches on ESPN360 and live reporting from each competition.

The Pro Circuit will feature top competitive games such as Halo 3, Gears of War and the soon-to-be-released Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Vegas 2, which includes a multiplayer map depicting an MLG tournament. Online Pro Circuit competitions throughout the season will determine seeding and registration priority for live competitions. Currently, nearly 4,500 teams from across the nation are competing online at mlgpro.com for a berth at the season opener at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. To add to the excitement and action, each 2008 Pro Circuit competition will feature a 3-hour online broadcast of championship matches, complete with live commentary and analysis.

The 2008 MLG Pro Circuit schedule includes the following stops:

• April 11-13 in Meadowlands, NJ
• June 13-15 in San Diego, CA
• July 11-13 in Orlando, FL
• August 22-24 in Toronto, Ontario (Canada)
• October 3-5 in Dallas, TX

The season will conclude with an Invitational Championship Tournament, with timing and location to be announced on www.mlgpro.com in the coming weeks.
