Major League Gaming Announces Call of Duty® Anaheim Open in Collaboration with Call of Duty® World League, Presented by PlayStation® 4

The 12 North American Teams from the Call of Duty World League (CWL), Presented by Playstation®4 Pro Division, and 96 Amateur Teams Will Compete in Anaheim For a $100,000 Prize Pool on June 10-12

We are excited to announce that Major League Gaming, in collaboration with the Call of Duty® World League, Presented by PlayStation®4, will be hosting the MLG Anaheim Open. Held at the Anaheim Convention Center on June 10-12, the event will feature up to 96 amateur teams and 12 North American CWL teams competing head-to-head in Call of Duty®: Black Ops III on PlayStation®4 for a $100,000 Prize Pool and 10,000 CWL Pro Points. The Anaheim Open will be one of the key events where players can earn CWL Pro Points for a chance to qualify for the Call of Duty® Championship, Presented by PlayStation®4, which will take place this year.

In addition to hosting all of the North American Pro Division teams from Stage 2 of the CWL, this event will offer an opportunity for 96 amateur teams to compete. The tournament will feature a Double Elimination Open Bracket, Pool Play, and a Double Elimination Championship Bracket (full format information, below).

For those hoping to compete, Team Passes will go on sale Tuesday, April 26 at 8:00 p.m. EDT for $299. Competitors must be 18 years of age or older.

For those looking to watch the action live at the Anaheim Convention Center, General Admission tickets are on-sale now starting at $49.99 (including a free MLG t-shirt), and VIP tickets are available for $149.99 and will include 1-hour early access to the event, a free Nike MLG Anaheim hoodie, VIP reception on Friday and access to the VIP lounge. Spectators must be 13 years of age or older with parental consent form, and spectators under 16 years of age will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

FORMAT:

96 Teams will start in the Double Elimination Open Bracket. The final four Winners Bracket Teams will advance into Pool Play and the final four Losers Bracket Teams will advance into the Championship Losers Bracket. The 12 CWL Teams will start in Pool Play, where they will be separated into 4 Pools. All Pool Play Teams will play one Match against each of the other Teams in their Pool and the final Pool Play Standings will determine each Team's placement in the Double Elimination Championship Bracket.

Rules & Format

2016 MLG Anaheim Open - CoD BO3 - Rules & Format

Major League Gaming Corp. (“Major League Gaming” or “MLG” or “Sponsor”), will be hosting the MLG Anaheim Open tournament (the “Tournament”), in accordance with: (i) the Call of Duty World League (“CWL”) Pro Division Handbook (the “Handbook”); (ii) these official rules (“Official Rules”); and (iii) the attached Conduct Rules (“Conduct Rules”) which are incorporated into these Official Rules, unless otherwise indicated.  If there is an inconsistency between the Handbook and these Official Rules, these Official Rules shall control.  By participating in the Tournament, each participant agrees to abide by the Handbook, these Official Rules, the decisions of MLG (which shall be final and binding in all respects) and to be contacted by MLG or their agents by email, mail and/or telephone regarding the Tournament.

1.Anaheim Open

a.Registration

i.Online Registrations for the Tournament will open at 8 PM EDT on Tuesday, April 26th.

ii.Online Registration for the Tournament will close at 11:59 PM EDT on Sunday, June 5th.

iii.Team Passes will not be sold at Check-Iin. Teams need a Team Pass must email leagueops@mlg.tv by 5 PM EDT on Tuesday, June 7th.

iv.The Tournament Team Pass Price is $299.

v.All Team Pass sales are final. No refunds, transfers, or resales will be granted.

vi.All Players must use Team Builder (http://team-builder.majorleaguegaming.com) in order to complete their Registrations.

b.Open Bracket

i.Format

1.     The Open Bracket will allow for up to 96 teams.

2.     The Open Bracket will be Double Elimination. After losing a Match in the Winners Bracket, Teams will enter the Losers Bracket. A Match loss in the Losers result in elimination from the Tournament.

3.     All Matches will be Best of 3 Games. All Best of 3 Matches will use Hardpoint Game Mode for Game 1, Uplink OR Capture the Flag Game Mode for Game 2, and Search and Destroy Game Mode for Game 3.

4.     When 4 Teams remain in the Open Winners Bracket, they will be placed into Pool Play.

5.     When 4 Teams remain in the Open Losers Bracket, they will be placed in Championship Bracket Losers Round 1.

ii.Seeding

1.     Registered Teams will be seeded for the Open Bracket by their total CWL Pro Points for PlayStation 4 Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 as of 9 AM EDT on Wednesday, June 8th.

2.     EU CWL Stage 2 teams will be seeded at the top of the Open Bracket as of 9 AM EDT on Wednesday, June 8th.

3.     Incomplete Teams will be seeded last.

4.     Teams that are completed after the Open Bracket is seeded will be seeded last, regardless of their Pro Points.

c.Pool Play

i.Format

1.     Pool Play will have 4 Pools of 4 Teams.

2.     All Matches will be Best of 5 Games. All Best of 5 Matches will use Hardpoint Game Mode for Game 1, Search and Destroy Game Mode for Games 2 and 5, Uplink Game Mode for Game 3, and Capture the Flag Game Mode for Game 4.

3.     Teams will play one Match against each of the other Teams in their Pool.

4.     Teams finishing their Pool in 1st and 2nd place will be placed in the Championship Winner Bracket Round 1. Teams finishing their Pool in 3rd will be placed in Championship Bracket Losers Round 2. Teams finishing their Pool in 4th Place will be placed in Championship Bracket Losers Round 1.

ii.Seeding

1.     NA CWL teams will be seeded for Pool Play by their current rank in CWL as of 9 AM EDT on Friday, June 3rd.

2.     The #1 NA CWL Team will be placed in Pool A. The #2 NA CWL Team will be placed in Pool B. The #3 NA CWL Team will be placed in Pool C. The #4 CWL Team will be placed in Pool D. The #5-8 NA CWL Teams will be randomly drawn, one into each Pool. The #9-12 NA CWL Teams will be randomly drawn, one into each Pool.

3.     Pool Play Seeds will be determined after Teams have already been assigned to a Pool.

4.     A Pool Play Team’s Seed is used to govern Side Choices and Main Stage Seating.

5.     The final 4 Open Winners Bracket Teams will be seeded #13-16 for Pool Play based on their Open Bracket Seed.

6.     The #13 Seed will be added to Pool D, #14 Seed will be added to Pool C, #15 Seed will be added to Pool B, and #16 seed will be added to Pool A.

iii.Ranking & Tiebreakers

1.     Pool Play Ranking (1st-4th) will be determined using each Team’s Record of Matches won and lost.

2.     Pool Play Standings ties will be broken using Head to Head Match Winning Percentage (Pool Play Matches Won vs. Tied Teams / Pool Play Matches Played vs. Tied Teams).

3.     If Head to Head Match Winning Percentage can’t break a tie, Head to Head Gaming Winner Percentage (Pool Play Games Won vs. Ties Teams / Pool Play Games Played vs. Tied Teams) will be used to break the tie.

4.     If Head to Head Game Winning Percentage can’t break a tie, Overall Game Winning Percentage (Pool Play Games Won / Pool Play Games Played) will be used to break the tie.

5.     The higher number will win all of the aforementioned tiebreakers.

6.     If the aforementioned Tiebreakers can’t break a tie for 3rd place, the tie will be broken by Pool Play Seed with the higher seed winning the Tiebreaker. The highest seed is 1.

7.     If the aforementioned Tiebreakers can’t break a tie for 1st place or 2nd place, the tied Teams will be scheduled to play a Best of 1 Game Round Robin tiebreaker. The Tiebreaker Game Mode will be Search and Destroy. For the Map, see MLG Anaheim Open – CoD BO3 – Game Types in Rounds. After each Team has played all other tied Teams in the Tiebreaker Game Type, their records of Games Won and Games Lost will be used to break the tie. If there is still a tie that can’t be broken by the aforementioned tiebreakers, an additional Best of 1 Game Round Robin Tiebreaker(s) will be played until the tie can be broken.

8.     If there is a tie involving more than two teams and a Tiebreaker resolved the tie for a Team(s), but leaves at least two Teams tied, the tie(s) that remains will be broken by starting over with the Head to Head Match Winning Percentage Tiebreaker.

                                            iv.     Replacement Teams

1.     If a Pool Play Team chooses not to participate in the Tournament and notifies MLG prior to the start of the Tournament, MLG reserves the right to replace the Team with a Team of their choice.

2.     If a Pool Play Team chooses not to participate in the Tournament and notifies MLG after the start of the Tournament, a Replacement Team will not be selected to take their place.

3.     If a Replacement Team is needed for Pool Play and all Pools have been set, the Replacement Team will be given the #16 Seed and will be assigned to the same Pool as the Team they have replaced. As a result, other Pool Play Teams may see their Seed change. However, all other Pool Play Teams will keep their Pool assignment.

d.Championship Bracket

i.Format

1.     Championship Bracket will be Double Elimination.

2.     All Matches will be Best of 5 Games. All Best of 5 Matches will use Hardpoint Game Mode for Game 1, Search and Destroy Game Mode for Games 2 and 5, Uplink Game Mode for Game 3, and Capture the Flag Game Mode for Game 4.

3.     Championship Bracket Winners Bracket will be conducted as follows:

a.     Round 1 Match #1 = Pool A 1st Place vs Pool C 2nd Place

b.     Round 1 Match #2 = Pool D 1st Place vs Pool B 2nd Place

c.     Round 1 Match #3 = Pool C 1st Place vs Pool A 2nd Place

d.     Round 1 Match #4 = Pool B 1st Place vs Pool D 2nd Place

e.     Semifinal #1 = Round 1 Match #1 Winner vs Round 1 Match #2 Winner

f.      Semifinal #2 = Round 1 Match #3 Winner vs Round 1 Match #4 Winner

g.     Final = Semifinal #1 Winner vs Semifinal #2 Winner

4.     After Losing a Match in the Championship Winners Bracket, Teams will enter the Championship Losers Bracket. A Match loss in the Championship Losers Bracket or the Grand Final will result in elimination from the Tournament.

5.     When one Team remains in both the Championship Winners Bracket and the Championship Losers Bracket those Teams will compete against each other in the Grand Final.

6.     The Grand Final will begin with an initial Match. If the Winners Bracket Team wins the initial match, they will win the tournament.

7.     If the Losers Bracket Team wins the initial match, a second match must be played. The winner of the second match will win the tournament.

ii.Seeding

1.     Pool Play Teams will keep their Pool Play Seed in the Championship Bracket.

2.     The final 4 Open Losers Bracket Teams will be seeded #17-#20 for the Championship Bracket based on their Open Bracket seed.

2.Handbook Rule Changes; Additional Tournament Rules

 

Handbook Rule Changes

 

a.  Playstation Network Account.  In addition to the requirements set forth in Rule 4.1 of the Handbook, Players must use the "MLG Events" profile on their console or  the profile that has been created with their known alias. Players competing on the Main Stage or Feature Stations must use the profile that has been created with their known alias.

 

b.  Best of Seven.  Rule 12.2 of the Handbook shall not apply to the Tournament.  Open Bracket Matches will be Best of 3 (BO3) format in which Teams must win two (2) of the three (3) Games to secure Match victory. Pool Play and Championship Bracket Matches will be Best of 5 (BO5) format in which Teams must win three (3) of the five (5) Games to secure Match victory.

 

c.  Clothing.  Rule 12.4 of the Handbook shall not apply to the Tournament.  Participants must wear appropriate team attire OR clothing approved by tournament officials. MLG reserves the right to the use of attire that is deemed inappropriate.

 

d.  Interviews.  Rule 12.6 of the Handbook shall not apply to the Tournament.  Each Team playing on the Stage must nominate at least one Player to be available for interviews.

 

e.  No Show.  Rule 12.9.2 of the Handbook shall not apply to the Tournament.  A Team will forfeit Game 1 of a Match if they don't have all four Players present by 5 minutes after a Match's scheduled start time (Grace Period). If a Team forfeited Game 1, they will Forfeit the Match if they don't have all four Players present by 15 minutes after the Match's scheduled start team. Teams that played a previous Game(s) in a Match will Forfeit a Game 2, 3, etc. if they don't have all four Players present by five minutes after the conclusion of the previous Game (Grace Period). If a Match hasn't begun by 15 minutes after the schedule start time and neither Team has all four Players present, the Match win may be awarded to the higher seed Team. If a Match can't begin at its scheduled start time, the Grace Period will begin at the conclusion of the Station's preceding Match.

 

f.  Equipment.  Rule 12.9.4 of the Handbook shall not apply to the Tournament.  MLG will provide monitors and consoles to be used for the Competition. Players must bring their own controllers, in-ear headphones, micro USB cable, and headsets. Provided headsets must be used while on-stage which must be worn for the duration of all Games. Equipment must include cables of reasonable length. Players may not use a Turbo controller or a Button Macro controller. Players may not use a controller that has been modified in such a way that it alters their Character's abilities and/or in-game mechanics. Players may not use a Keyboard or a Mouse. Players must utilize a standard 3.5mm stereo headset jack. Players may not use a Wireless headset or a headset that requires an outlet for power.

 

g.  Disconnects.  Rule 12.10.3 of the Handbook shall not apply to the Tournament.   If a Player disconnects during the Ban/Protect phase, he/she shall forfeit his/her selection if one has not already been made. He/she must try to re-join the Game immediately. If he/she is unable to rejoin the Game before the Game begins, the Game may be restarted with the same Bans and Protects. If a Player disconnects within the first 15 seconds of the Game and no damage has been dealt or no points have been earned prior to the disconnect, the Game will be restarted with the same Bans and Protects. If a Player disconnects after the first 15 seconds and/or damage has been dealt or points have been earned, the Game must continue. The Player may re-join the Game as soon as possible.

 

h.  Breaks Between Games.  Rule 12.10.5 of the Handbook shall not apply to the Tournament.  Teams are given 5 minutes before the Match (Grace Period) and there will be 2 minute breaks in between Games for Players to set up their classes and prepare for the next Game. If their Match has not been completed, Players may ask their Referee for permission to leave their Station. Referees may set a time limit by the end of which the Player must return to their Station or they may deny the Player's request.

 

i.  Protests.  Rule 12.11.3 of the Handbook shall not apply to the Tournament.  Players/Teams must notify their Referee that they would like to Protest the Game before a new Game has begun.

 

Additional Tournament Rules

 

            a.  Team Selection.  For all Open Bracket Best of 3 Matches, higher seeded team must choose to act as Team A or Team B. Team A must choose one Game Type that they will host. Team B will be set to host the other two Game Types. The Team that doesn't host a Game must choose to play as Black Ops or CDP for that Game. The Host is responsible for ensuring that all Game settings are correct. All Pool Play and Championship Bracket Matches will be hosted by Administration (Neutral Host). In all Pool Play and Championship Bracket Best of 5 Matches, the higher seed Team must choose to act as Team A or Team B for Side Selection procedure.

 

i.          Team A gets first choice of which Game they would like to choose sides for.

ii.         Team B gets second choice of which Game they would like to choose sides for.

iii.        Team A gets third choice of which Game they would like to choose sides for.

iv.        Team B picks sides for the remaining two Games.

 

b.  Main Stage Matches.  For all Main Stage Matches, the higher seeded Team must occupy the Red side of the Station (right side from the audience perspective) and the lower seeded Team must occupy the Blue side of the Station.

 

c.  Game Start.   If a Round/Game is started without the approval of a Tournament Official, it will be restarted from the beginning.

d.  Player/Staff Loading.  If a Player or Staff member fails to load into a Round/Game or loses their connection to the Game during or prior to the pre-Game Match timer, the Round/Game must be restarted from the beginning.

 

e.  Game Breaking Bugs.  If a Player finds that a Game Breaking Bug is occuring, they should notify a Tournament Official immediately. If the Tournament Official is able to confirm that a game breaking bug has occured, they will determine whether or not the affect Round/Game should be restarted, the Game win should be awarded to a Team, or the conditions under which the Round/Game should be resume. List of Game Breaking Bug below:

 

i.          Character hasn't respawned after the proper amount of time.

ii.         Character isn't properly arming or disarming the bomb.

iii.        Character isn't properly picking up or capturing the flag.

iv.        Character isn't properly able to Aim Down Sights (ADS).

v.         The Uplink Satellite hasn't reset after 15 seconds of being unreachable

Spectator Rules

1.   Spectators* may not stand within two feet of a seated Player.

2.   Spectators may not touch a Player.

3.   Spectators may not interfere with a Referee’s ability to preside over a Match.

4.   Spectators may not touch or get on a Main Stage or Feature Station.

5.   Spectators may not attempt to coach a Player/Team.

6.   Spectators must heed all warnings and follow all instructions given by MLG Staff.

7.   Spectators may be made to move, made to leave an area, or removed from the venue, at any time, for any reason.

 

Foul Rules

1.   Players and Coaches may not eject a disc from a Console, use a memory card or USB flash drive, unplug anything from a Monitor, Console, or audio equipment, or touch power units without a Tournament Official’s permission.  Players and Coaches may not move a Monitor, Console, or audio equipment without a Tournament Official’s permission.  Players and Coaches may not adjust Monitor Settings, other than Volume, without a Tournament Official’s permission.

2.   Players may not communicate with a Spectator, or a Player other than a teammate or an opponent(s).

3.   Players and Coaches may not use vulgar language in excess.  Excessive use of vulgar language is defined as consistent use of vulgar language that is audible to Spectators of the Match or a single use of vulgar language that is audible to Spectators of another Match.

4.   Coaches may not taunt an opposing Player or Coach.  Taunting of an opposing Player or Coach is defined as derogatory language or gestures, aimed at an opponent, which is audible and/or visible to the opponent.

5.   Players may not chat about companies, sponsors, or products.

6.   Players/Teams may not use a Match’s designated Station for Warm-Up Games during, or prior to the start of, a Match without a Tournament Official’s permission.

7.   Players/Teams that haven’t been eliminated from the Tournament have priority over other Players/Teams regarding the use of Stations for Warm-Up.

 

Technical Foul Rules

1.   Players and Coaches may not stand on chairs, tables, or other MLG equipment.

2.   Players and Coaches may not verbally abuse a Tournament Official. Verbal abuse of a Tournament Official includes, but is not limited to, the use of vulgar language directed at a Tournament Official, the use of insulting words or gestures directed at a Tournament Official, and excessive argument with a Tournament Official that results in the delay of a Match.

3.   Players and Coaches may not direct vulgar language at a Player, Coach, or Spectator.

4.   Players and Coaches may not incite Spectators into taunting a Player, Coach, or Spectator.

5.   Players and Coaches may not taunt or celebrate in excess.  Excessive taunting/celebration includes, but is not limited to, post-Match taunting or celebration directed at or referencing an opponent(s).  Post-Match interactions between opponents must be limited to acts of sportsmanship.

6.   Players and Coaches may not engage in unsportsmanlike physical contact.

7.   Players and Coaches may not throw anything in the direction of an opponent.  Players and Coaches may not throw anything into the audience that could cause injury.

 

Additional Rules

1.   Players/Teams are expected to put forth their best effort in all Games.

2.   Players, Coaches, Managers, and Owners may not participate in Fantasy Sports or gambling that use the stats or results of this Tournament.

3.   Players/Teams may not intentionally Forfeit a Game or conspire to manipulate Rankings or Brackets.

4.   Players and Coaches are expected to treat all members of MLG Staff, and Sponsors, with respect.

5.   Public discussions of, or agreements to, avoiding the use of abilities, items, weapons, or strategies are prohibited.

6.   Public statements made about private information, unofficial Roster changes, and disparaging remarks made about MLG or its partners are prohibited.

 

Penalties

1.   Players and Coaches found to have broken a Foul Rule will be issued a Foul.   For every two Fouls that a Player or Coach receives, they will be issued a Technical Foul.

2.   Players and Coaches found to have broken a Technical Foul Rule will be issued a Technical Foul.  If a Player or Coach receives a Technical Foul, the opposing Team will be allowed to switch Side Choice for 1 upcoming Game in the Match.  If necessary, these penalties will be carried over from one Match to the next or one Tournament (Online or Offline) to the next.  If a penalty is carried over from one Tournament to the next, it will be carried over by only the Player or Coach who received the Technical Foul.

3.   Violations of any of the Additional Rules may result in a Forfeit of the current Match and/or all future Matches in the Tournament (Disqualified).  The Team may also be forced to continue the Tournament shorthanded.

4.   Teams that Forfeit a Match and Players, Coaches, Managers, and Owners found to have broken any Conduct Rules may be subject to penalties such as a Temporary Ban from MLG’s Network of Websites, Forfeit of a Prize, a Fine, and/or a Ban from a future Tournament(s).

5.   Tournament Officials may issue a Foul, Technical Foul, or Disqualify a Player/Team for acts of misconduct not listed in the Conduct Rules.

 

*A Spectator is anyone who is not currently competing in a Match.  Therefore, Players shall be considered Spectators when they are not competing in a Match.  The start of a Match is marked by all Players seated at the Station prior to the start of Game 1 and the end of a Match is marked by a Team winning the Match’s final Game.  Coaches will always be considered Spectators except for the following instances:

1. Their Team is competing in a Match, but Game 1 hasn’t started yet.

2. Their Team is competing in a Match, but they are between Games.

The start of a Game is marked by the Host selecting “Start Game” within the System Link Menu.

 

Team Builder Rules

2016 MLG Anaheim Open - CoD BO3 - Team Builder Rules

 

Team Builder

 

1.   Teams must be named and have four confirmed Players in Team Builder or they may not be entered into the Tournament.  Captains are confirmed after entering their contact information.  Other Players and Coaches are confirmed after accepting their invitation to the Team and entering their contact information.

2.   Teams may register one Coach.  Coaches must be confirmed in Team Builder prior to the start of the Tournament.  After the start of the Tournament, Teams without a confirmed Coach won’t be allowed to add a Coach or compete with a Coach in the Tournament and Teams with a confirmed Coach won’t be allowed to change their Coach or compete with a different Coach in the Tournament.

3.   The Tournament’s Team Builder Lock will take place at 11:59 PM EDT on Sunday, June 5th.

4.   Prior to the Team Builder Lock, Players and Coaches will be allowed to join and leave Teams in Team Builder without restriction.  Also, Team Captains will be allowed to make changes to their Team Name and Roster of Players and Coach in Team Builder without restriction.

5.   After the Team Builder Lock, Players and Coaches must submit requests via Team Builder, or make requests at Check-In, in order to make changes to their Team’s Roster of Players and Coach.  Players and Coaches who are confirmed on a Team will be allowed to move to another Team if both Team Captains and all Players/Coaches who are switching Teams submit their approval of the changes.  After the Team Builder Lock, Players/Coaches can’t be removed from a Team without their approval unless they are deemed to be unable to attend and the change is authorized, at Check-In, by the Commissioner of MLG.

6.   Individuals may not register or compete as both a Player and a Coach in the Tournament.

7.   Players, Coaches, or Teams that break a Team Builder Rule #2 or #6 may Forfeit a Game(s) or Match, be disqualified from the Tournament(s) or be forced to continue shorthanded.  Such Players, Coaches, and Teams may also be subject to a Temporary Ban from MLG’s Network of Websites and/or a Ban from a future Tournament(s).

 

Post-Team Builder Lock Changes & Impersonation

 

1.   Teams are responsible for notifying MLG (leagueops@mlg.tv) of any changes to their Roster of Players and Coach that was submitted in Team Builder at the Team Builder Lock.  Notification must be made via email prior to the start of the Tournament or at Check-In’s Roster Changes desk.  Teams that fail to make the proper notification of a change to their Roster of Players that would’ve affected the Team’s Seed may be subject to disqualification from the Tournament.

2.   Players found attempting to use another Player’s MLG Username (Impersonation), may be removed from their Team and/or disqualified from the Tournament.  If a Player, guilty of Impersonation, is removed from a Team prior to the start of a Tournament, the Team may be allowed to add a Player in order to compete in the Tournament with a full Roster of Players.  If a Player, guilty of Impersonation, is removed from a Team after the start of a Tournament, the Team will not be allowed to add a Player.  However, the Team may be permitted to continue to compete in the Tournament shorthanded.

3.   If a registered Player(s) fails to attend their Team's first Match, the Players who are present may request that they be allowed to permanently replace the Player(s) before they are forced to Forfeit a Game/Match.  Players who fail to attend their Team's first Match and are replaced will be considered as having consented to their removal from the Team.  If more than two Players fail to attend their Team's first Match, the Team will Forfeit the Match.

4.   Teams may not make a Roster change in order to add or remove a Player or Coach if the Team has already participated in at least one Match in the Tournament.

5.   If an individual is found attempting to play in place of an absent Player who is registered on the Team, the Team will be disqualified from the Tournament.  Individuals who are registered as a Team’s Coach may not play in place of an absent Player.  

6.   Players, Coaches, and Teams that are disqualified from the Tournament may also be subject to a Temporary Ban from MLG’s Network of Websites, stripped of any benefits (Prize, Pro Points, etc.) earned in the Tournament, and/or given a Ban from a future Tournament(s).  The teammates of penalized individuals may be subject to the same penalties.

 

Captains, Team Passes, and Release Forms

 

1.   A Team’s Captain in Team Builder is the Player who purchased and/or currently owns the Team Pass.  Therefore, if the Team Builder Captain is changed, the new Captain becomes the owner of the Team Pass.

2.   Team Builder Captain change requests must be submitted to MLG (leagueops@mlg.tv) by the Team’s current Captain in Team Builder.

3.   Players and Coaches must accept the 2016 Pro Circuit Official Rules upon accessing Team Builder for 2016 Offline Tournaments.

4.   Players and Coaches who are not minors in their state or country of residence will be able to accept the terms of the 2016 Appearance/Participation Release upon accessing Team Builder.

5.   Players and Coaches who are unable to accept the terms of the Appearance/Participation Release in Team Builder must bring a signed copy of the Appearance/Participation Release, with the Parental Consent Form, to Check-In.

 

Team Name Rules

 

1.   No websites.

2.   No use of “Major League Gaming” or “MLG”.

3.   No use of the word "Team".

4.   No derogatory, suggestive, or otherwise inappropriate words/meanings.

5.   No corporations, company, sponsor, or product names.

6.   Teams may not, without permission, register for a Tournament with a Team Name that closely resembles that of a current or former Pro Player or Pro Team.

7.   Team Names are limited to 20 characters, including spaces.

8.   Teams found violating any of the Team Name Rules will have their Team Name changed and will be instructed to rename their Team immediately.

 

Player Name (Username) Rules

 

1.   No websites.

2.   No use of “Major League Gaming” or “MLG”.

3.   No derogatory, suggestive, or otherwise inappropriate words/meanings.

4.   No corporations, company, sponsor, or product names.

5.   Players may not, without permission, register for or compete in a Tournament using a name that closely resembles that of a current or former Pro Player or Pro Team.

6.   Players found violating any of the Player Name (Username) Rules must use an alternate Username.  

 

All emails submitted to leagueops@mlg.tv must be submitted from the email address that is registered to the individual’s MLG Username.
