2012 MLG Pro Circuit
Official Rules
VOID WHERE PROHIBITED
Major League Gaming Inc. (“MLG”) will conduct this 2012 MLG Pro Circuit (including Open Online Qualifier Competitions, Invite-Only Online Qualifier Competitions, Arena Competitions and Championship Competitions for Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall seasons) (each competition or collectively referred to as the “Pro Circuit”) in accordance with these Official Rules, unless otherwise indicated. By participating in a Pro Circuit competition (each a “Pro Circuit Competition”), each participant (each a “Player”) agrees to abide by the terms of these Official Rules, the decisions of MLG (which shall be final and binding in all respects) and to be contacted by MLG or their agents by email, mail and/or telephone regarding the Pro Circuit.
1. Eligibility
Any Player in an Arena Competition and/or Championship Competition who is a minor under the laws of his or her state of residence (19 years old for residents of Alabama and Nebraska, otherwise 18 years old) must be registered onsite by a parent or legal guardian and accompanied during any travel, including prize travel, by at least one adult (parent or guardian) 21 years of age or older.
All Players in the Open Online Qualifier Competitions and/or Invite-Only Online Qualifier Competitions must be at least 13 years old as of the date of registration. Children under the age of 13 are not eligible to win prizes. If requested by MLG, winners must provide a copy of his/her government-issued photo ID with proof of age. Any participant of the Open Online Qualifier Competitions and/or Invite-Only Online Qualifier Competitions who decides to attend an Arena Competition and/or Championship Competition and who is a minor under the laws of his or her state of residence (19 years old for residents of Alabama and Nebraska, otherwise 18 years old) must be registered onsite by a parent or legal guardian and accompanied during any travel, including prize travel, by at least one adult (parent or guardian) 21 years of age or older.
Employees of MLG and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parents, representatives, advertising, promotion and publicity agencies, sponsors (collectively, “MLG and MLG Pro Circuit Entities”) and the immediate family members and persons living in the same household of each are not eligible.
Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
2. Entry for Open Online Qualifier Competitions
There will be Open Online Qualifier Competitions for certain titles on the 2012 MLG Pro Circuit.
Please see Open Online Qualifier Event Rules, Event Format, Event Schedule, Maps and Settings, and Pro Circuit Conduct Rules documents for more details about the Open Online Qualifier Competitions for each game title.
Players must have a valid MLG user account. Players without a valid MLG user account can create one here: https://accounts.majorleaguegaming.com/account/new.
Participants must purchase a Team Pass or Player Pass through the MLG Store (http://store.majorleaguegaming.com/) to participate in an Open Online Qualifier Competition. RESIDENTS OF ARIZONA, CONNECTICUT, MARYLAND, NORTH DAKOTA AND VERMONT MAY NOT PURCHASE A TEAM PASS OR PLAYER PASS ONLINE THROUGH THE MLG STORE. Player Passes for each Open Online Qualifier Competition for Starcraft 2 are $10 per player if purchased online through the MLG Store. Prices for Player Passes and/or Team Passes for Open Online Qualifier Competitions for other game titles, if applicable, will be posted in the MLG Store.
In order to purchase a Team Pass or Player Pass, Players must select the item in the MLG Store (http://store.majorleaguegaming.com), add it to their Cart, Proceed to Checkout, correctly enter their Billing Information (Credit Card or Debit Card), and Complete the Purchase. After obtaining a Team Pass or Player Pass, all Players will be given access to Team Builder in order to complete registration.
Because space and time are limited, MLG cannot guarantee that all persons attempting to register will be able to participate. Please check MLG’s website (http://majorleaguegaming.com) for exact dates and times that such registrations open and close.
Players may request a Credit refund prior to the start of an Open Online Qualifier Competition. After an Open Online Qualifier Competition has started, all Credits will be considered used and will be nonrefundable.
Limit one registration/entry per person, per Open Online Qualifier Competition. No other methods of entry will be accepted.
All entries become the property of MLG and will not be returned. MLG is not responsible for technical, hardware, or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled, lost, illegible, altered, defaced, mutilated, misdirected, ineligible, or delayed entries or other communications or other technical problems related to website entries. MLG, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process, the operation of the MLG websites, including but not limited to majorleaguegaming.com and gamebattles.com, (collectively, the “MLG Sites”), or who otherwise violates these Official Rules.
3. Entry for Invite-Only Online Qualifier Competitions
There will be Invite-Only Online Qualifier Competitions for certain titles on the 2012 MLG Pro Circuit.
To participate in such Invite-Only Online Qualifier Competitions, a Player must either be invited by MLG or otherwise qualify for participation through another Pro Circuit Competition, as determined by MLG in its sole discretion. Limit one registration/entry per person, per Invite-Only Online Qualifier Competition. No other methods of entry will be accepted.

4. Entry for Arena Competitions
There will be Arena Competitions for certain titles on the 2012 MLG Pro Circuit.
To participate in such Arena Competitions, a Player must either be invited by MLG or otherwise qualify for participation through another Pro Circuit Competition, as determined by MLG in its sole discretion. Limit one registration/entry per person, per Arena Competition. No other methods of entry will be accepted.

Participants who are minors must bring a signed copy of the Appearance/Participation Release and Parental Consent Form to Check-In at the Championship Competition.
All entries become the property of MLG and will not be returned. MLG is not responsible for technical, hardware, or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled, lost, illegible, altered, defaced, mutilated, misdirected, ineligible, or delayed entries or other communications or other technical problems related to website entries. MLG, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process, the operation of the MLG Sites, or who otherwise violates these Official Rules.
5. Entry for Championship Competitions
There will be four (4) Championship Competitions on the 2012 MLG Pro Circuit.
Please see the Championship Event Rules, Event Format, Event Schedule, Maps and Settings, and Pro Circuit Conduct Rules documents for more information on each game title that is featured in the Championship Competition.

Participants must purchase a Team Pass or Player Pass through the MLG Store (http://store.majorleaguegaming.com/) to participate in a Championship Competition. RESIDENTS OF ARIZONA, CONNECTICUT, MARYLAND, NORTH DAKOTA AND VERMONT MAY NOT PURCHASE A TEAM PASS OR PLAYER PASS ONLINE THROUGH THE MLG STORE. Player Passes for each Championship Competition for Starcraft 2 are $70 per player if purchased online through the MLG Store and $80 per player if purchased at Check-In. Team Passes for each Championship Competition for Halo: Reach (4v4) are $280 per team if purchased online through the MLG Store and $320 per team if purchased at Check-In. Player Passes for each Championship Competition for Halo: Reach (FFA) are $35 per player if purchased online through the MLG Store and $45 per player if purchased at Check-In. Team Passes for each Championship Competition for League of Legends are $250 per team if purchased online through the MLG Store and $300 per team if purchased at Check-In. Player Passes for each Championship Competition for Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur V and King of Fighters XIII are each $50 per player if purchased online through the MLG Store and $60 per player if purchased at Check-In. There may be combination Player Passes and/or Team Passes available for certain game titles, and such prices will be posted in the MLG Store. Prices for Player Passes and/or Team Passes for Championship Competitions for other game titles, if applicable, will be posted in the MLG Store.
In order to purchase a Team Pass or Player Pass, Players must select the item in the MLG Store (http://store.majorleaguegaming.com), add it to their Cart, Proceed to Checkout, correctly enter their Billing Information (Credit Card or Debit Card), and Complete the Purchase. After obtaining a Team Pass or Player Pass, all Players will be given access to Team Builder in order to complete registration. Participants who are minors must bring a signed copy of the Appearance/Participation Release and Parental Consent Form to Check-In at the Championship Competition.

In the event that all of the registration slots are not filled from online registration, then the remaining slots will be available, at Check-In, for onsite registration. Such onsite registration will open at approximately 10:30 AM (local time) on Friday, before the Championship Competition starts at each location, and will remain open until all available registration slots are filled or until 4:00 PM (local time on Friday, whichever is earlier (the “Onsite Registration Window”). To register onsite, arrive at the applicable Championship Competition venue during the Onsite Registration Window and provide MLG with the applicable on-site Team Pass or Player Pass entry fee, a signed Appearance/Participation Release, a valid photo ID, and a Parental Consent Form, if the Player is a minor in his or her state of residence. Coaches must register with their team, but Coaches do not pay any entry fees and are not eligible to win any prizes.
Purchased Starcraft 2 Player Passes, if not used, will be saved as a $45 Credit that may be used toward the purchase of a future 2012 or 2013 Pro Circuit Competition Player or Team Pass; provided, however, in order to qualify for such credit, a Player must provide MLG with written notice prior to a Championship Competition that he/she will not use such Player Pass at such Championship Competition. Purchased Halo: Reach Team Passes, if not used, will be saved as a $180 Credit that may be used toward the purchase of a future 2012 or 2013 Pro Circuit Competition Player or Team Pass; provided, however, in order to qualify for such credit, the Players on a team must provide MLG with written notice prior to a Championship Competition that they will not use such Team Pass at such Championship Competition. Purchased League of Legend Team Passes, if not used, will be saved as a $125 Credit that may be used toward the purchase of a future 2012 or 2013 Pro Circuit Competition Player or Team Pass; provided, however, in order to qualify for such credit, the Players on a team must provide MLG with written notice prior to a Championship Competition that they will not use such Team Pass at such Championship Competition. For other game titles on the Pro Circuit, MLG reserves the right to deny Credits for unused Player and/or Team Passes.

6. Prizes
Please see the Prizes documents for more information on the prizing for each game title featured for the specific Pro Circuit Competition.
Prizes are non-transferable and not exchangeable for any other prize. In the case of unavailability of prize, MLG reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All taxes, gratuities and unspecified expenses are the sole responsibility of winner. Winner assumes all liability for use of the prize. Each winner is solely responsible for any and all applicable taxes. Any person winning over $600 in prizes from MLG will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS. MLG and MLG Pro Circuit Entities are not responsible for any unspecified expenses which shall be the responsibility of winners. MLG reserves the right to withhold from the prizes any prize amounts required to be withheld by any applicable tax laws and regulations in any applicable jurisdiction.
All winner(s) will be required to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and, except where prohibited, Liability/Publicity Release (in addition to the Appearance/Participation Release submitted as part of Pro Circuit registration), in the form provided by MLG, within 10 days of winning in order to claim prize. If a minor wins a prize, it will be awarded in the name of the minor’s parent or legal guardian, who will also be responsible for signing any necessary releases, consents and affidavits. If any winner(s) cannot be contacted, is contacted and does not respond as directed within 10 days of attempted notification, refuses the prize within ten days of notification or is ineligible to accept the prize, prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Winner(s) may be required to provide a U.S. shipping address to claim prize. Allow 4-6 weeks for delivery of prize.
7. Right to Use Player Name and Photograph
By entering the Pro Circuit, each Player agrees to the posting and use of his or her name and/or photograph on MLG’s and/or MLG Pro Circuit Entities’ website and in any and all media in and in connection with promotion, publicity and advertising for this Pro Circuit or other promotions by MLG and MLG Pro Circuit Entities without any further attribution, notification or compensation, except where prohibited by law.
MLG and MLG Pro Circuit Entities may film, record and/or take photographs during the Pro Circuit, and may use the resulting footage, recordings or photographs for a range of purposes, including, without limitation, for marketing and promoting MLG and MLG Pro Circuit Entities and its products and services. By attending the Pro Circuit, each Player authorizes MLG and MLG Pro Circuit Entities to film, record and/or photograph his or her voice and likeness ("Image"), and also grants MLG and MLG Pro Circuit Entities the irrevocable right to use any footage, recordings or photographs of him or her recorded or taken during the Pro Circuit, or any reproduction or modification thereof (collectively, the "Recordings") in any manner and medium throughout the world an unlimited number of times in perpetuity for advertising, trade, promotion, exhibition or any other lawful purpose except where prohibited by law. By attending the Pro Circuit, except where prohibited by law each Player further waives any right of inspection or approval of the uses to which MLG may put the Recordings, and releases MLG from any and all claims arising out of or in connection with the Recordings, the Player’s Image or MLG’s use thereof.
8. Release
By participating, each Player and winner waives any and all claims of liability against MLG, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, subsidiaries, suppliers, and related companies, its sponsors, advertising and promotion agencies and partners, and any of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents , from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense, including without limitation property damages, personal injury and/or death, arising out of participation in the Pro Circuit or the acceptance, use or misuse of the prize. If any part of these Official Rules shall be held or declared to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason by any court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be ineffective but shall not affect any other part of these Official Rules and the invalid portion of any provision shall be deemed modified to the least degree necessary to remedy such invalidity while retaining the original intent of the parties. The failure of MLG to partially or fully exercise any rights or the waiver by MLG of any breach of these Official Rules by Player, shall not prevent a subsequent exercise of such right by MLG or be deemed a waiver by MLG of any subsequent breach by Player of the same or any other term of these Official Rules. The rights and remedies of MLG under these Official Rules shall be cumulative, and the exercise of any right or remedy shall not limit a right to exercise any other right or remedy hereunder.
9. Conditions.
MLG is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by users of the MLG Sites or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized on the MLG Sites or in the Pro Circuit or by any technical or human error, which may occur in the processing of registrations, entries into the Pro Circuit or otherwise in connection with the Pro Circuit including, without limitation, any technical limitation or other event that results in the disqualification or loss of ranking status of any participant in the Pro Circuit. MLG assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, or communications line failure relating to the MLG Sites or the Pro Circuit, or for any theft or destruction of or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, any registration materials or entries. MLG is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone, network, satellite, cable or lines, computer, on-line-systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of e-mail, registrations or entry submissions on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or combination thereof in connection with the MLG Sites or the Pro Circuit, including, without limitation, any technical limitation or other event that results in the disqualification or loss of ranking status of any Player in any game. MLG is not responsible for injury or damage to participants' or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating, downloading or uploading materials from the MLG Sites or in connection with the Pro Circuit. Any use of robotic, automatic, micro, programmed or like entry methods will void all such entries by such methods, and disqualify any person using such methods. If, for any reason, the Pro Circuit, in MLG's sole opinion, is not capable of running as planned, including, but not limited to, by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, worms, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of MLG which, in the MLG's sole judgment, corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Pro Circuit, MLG reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Pro Circuit and proceed in such a manner as may be deemed fair and equitable by MLG in its sole discretion.
IN NO EVENT WILL MLG AND THE MLG PRO CIRCUIT ENTITIES, ITS PARENTS, AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, SUPPLIERS, AND RELATED COMPANIES, ITS SPONSORS, ADVERTISING OR PROMOTION AGENCIES OR PARTNERS OR ANY OF THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS, BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR: (A) ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OF ANY KIND UNDER ANY THEORY (WHETHER CONTRACT, TORT, WARRANTY OR OTHERWISE), INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS OR COMBINE PRIZES, ARISING OUT OF ANY PLAYER'S ACCESS TO AND USE OF THE MLG SITES OR PARTICIPATION IN THE PRO CIRCUIT OR (B) FOR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND IN EXCESS OF ANY FEE PAID BY PLAYER (IF ANY) TO ENTER THE PRO CIRCUIT. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, EVERYTHING ON THE MLG SITES AND IN CONNECTION WITH THE PRO CIRCUIT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN LIABILITY OR WARRANTIES SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO PLAYER. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, MLG AND THE MLG ENTITIES’ LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
10. Conduct and Decisions
By participating in the Pro Circuit, Players agree to be bound by the decisions of MLG and Pro Circuit Admins. All decisions of the Pro Circuit organizers or of their representatives regarding the Pro Circuit are final and without appeal. Players must conduct themselves in a reasonable manner, maintaining a friendly and polite demeanor to competitors, the Pro Circuit officials, and to other Players of the Pro Circuit. Players who violate any rule, gain unfair advantage in participating in the Pro Circuit, or obtain winner status using fraudulent means will be disqualified. Unsportsmanlike, disruptive, annoying, harassing or threatening behavior is prohibited. MLG will interpret these rules and resolve any disputes, conflicting claims or ambiguities concerning the rules or the Pro Circuit and MLG's decisions concerning such disputes shall be final. If the conduct or outcome of the Pro Circuit is affected by human error, any mechanical malfunctions or failures of any kind, intentional interference or any event beyond the control of MLG, the Company reserves the right to terminate this Pro Circuit, or make such other decisions regarding the outcome as MLG deems appropriate. MLG reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the registration or entry process or the operation of the MLG Sites or the Pro Circuit, acting in violation of these Official Rules, to be hacking, or to be acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, or to have provided any false or misleading information as part of the registration process including, without limitation, any false names, addresses or e-mail addresses. All decisions will be made by the MLG and are final.
ANY ATTEMPT BY A PLAYER OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY CIRCUMVENT, DISRUPT OR DAMAGE ORDINARY AND NORMAL OPERATION OF THIS PRO CIRCUIT TELEPHONE SYSTEMS OR MLG SITES, OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE PRO CIRCUIT IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, MLG RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PLAYER TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
11. Miscellaneous
If for any reason, the Pro Circuit, in MLG's sole opinion, is not capable of running as planned, including, but not limited to, by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, worms, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of MLG which, in the MLG's sole judgment, corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Pro Circuit, MLG reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Pro Circuit and proceed in such a manner as may be deemed fair and equitable by MLG in its sole discretion.
12. Arbitration and Governing Law
Any controversy, claim or dispute arising out of or relating to the Pro Circuit shall be settled by arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association in accordance with its Commercial Rules including Emergency Interim Relief Procedure in New York, New York, except that, to the extent any Player, winner or guest has in any manner violated or threatened to violate MLG’s intellectual property or confidentiality rights, MLG may seek injunctive, monetary or other appropriate relief in any state or federal court in the state of New York (and MLG may assert both intellectual property causes of action and other appropriate causes of action in any such action), and Player consents to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in such courts. The arbitrator's award shall be binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, no arbitration under this Agreement shall be joined to an arbitration involving any other party subject to this Agreement, whether through class arbitration proceedings or otherwise.
13. Use of Data
MLG will be collecting personal data about Players online, in accordance with applicable laws and its privacy policy. Please review MLG’s privacy policy at https://accounts.majorleaguegaming.com/privacy_policy. By participating in Pro Circuit, Players hereby agree to MLG’s collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted MLG’s privacy policy.
14. Rules and List of Winners
For a copy of the rules, or a list of winners, please send request within thirty (30) days of the end of each Pro Circuit Competition by mail with a stamped, self-addressed return envelope with the Pro Circuit Competition name and addressed to: 2012 MLG Pro Circuit, c/o Major League Gaming Inc., 3 Park Avenue, 32nd Floor, New York, NY 10016.
15. Sponsor
The tournament administrator and judge for this Pro Circuit is Major League Gaming Inc., 3 Park Avenue, 32nd Floor, New York, NY 10016.
